It happens in life that your gold wedding bands might become damaged or misshapen and need to be repaired. Usually when it comes to wedding rings there are two basic repairs that need to be done:
- Reshaping: This is when the wedding ring has become bent or misshapen in some way. Most of the time a jeweler can restore the ring to its original shape. It may be necessary for a bit more gold to be applied to make this happen. If this is the case you’ll have to pay for the gold materials cost.
- Repair: This is a more serious type of fix and is used if your ring has been significantly scratched or gouged. A jeweler will add more gold and then reform the section that has been damaged. This often cost a lot of money depending on the purity of the ring so make sure to talk to your jeweler about pricing before allowing him to go ahead.
