If there is one thing that I have learned about life, it is that you rarely end up doing what you plan to do. I have so many friend who would feel the same way if I asked them. We all thought we knew what we wanted to do when we started school, but over time, the things that we valued changed and the availability of jobs became a reality. I went to school for fashion design and always wanted to work on my own fashion line. However, I now work in manikin photography after getting into photography on my own when I was in my twenties. I have a friend who went to school for business, only to go back to school for biology and later on to veterinary school. She loves her job as a vet and would not trade it for the world now that she is in.

Monday, December 12th, 2011I didn’t want to do this, but my need to make lists and check things off as they are completed seems to have taken control. A friend of a friend is trying to save money by planning her own weeding, and they’re pretty awful at it. She’s even making the bridesmaids’ outfits. I know that the couture designers drape the fabric around a model when they design, but I don’t think she’s going past that stage here. My friend looks like she’s wearing a set of heavy curtains. Oh god, this is going to be funny! So far, they’ve gone to the craft store to buy fake flowers and mini vases for centerpieces, and they’ve raided the bargain bin in the wedding department for spools of lace and a cake topper. As for me, I’m sourcing Wholesale Wine Glasses for the tables. I was thinking of real glass so people can take them home, but then I saw their budget. Unless I can find a good deal, plastic it is!
